Democrats can talk about their progressive past all they want, but anyone who understands the plight of inner-city America (and rural America, for that matter) remembers the disaster that was Bill Clinton’s increased funding for the “War On Drugs”.

There was an excellent article on reason about the lack of federal funding for law enforcement drug units, which has led to exorbitant crackdowns and invasions of privacy. If anything, the American taxpayer should expect more and more funding for the drug war, especially when funding for Iraq becomes unnecessary and Congress feels that unlimited budget burning a hole in its proverbial wallet.
